UK Status Resident. Can be a common species where the foodplant is found in Wales and from Staffordshire northwards. Montgomeryshire Status First discovered in the far north of the county in the Berwyns, 2014. Wingspan : M & F 6-8mm. Confusion species Many species of Stigmella are similar. One of the best ways of separating them is to examine the leaf-mine in the foodplant. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat Moorland and mountains. Foodplant Cowberry. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a long slender gallery, later forming a blotch. Pupates in blotch. |
